The Brooklyn Public Library and their Brooklyn Collection have made the full text of the Brooklyn Eagle from 1841 to 1902 available online at Brooklyn Daily Eagle Online [ http://www.brooklynpubliclibrary.org/eagle/ ]. This has been a massive project, digitalizing approximately 147,000 pages of newspaper. Access can be gained either by date of issue or by keyword searching. The site provides access to important primary source material and includes obituaries, marriage notices, society, gossip, lists of war casualties, and everyday news items.
